Welcome to Safe and Sound, a beautiful 5-bedroom soundfront retreat in Corolla Light Resort. With sweeping Currituck Sound views, spectacular sunsets, a private pool and hot tub, and access to an impressive collection of resort amenities, this home is made for memorable Outer Banks family vacations.

The reverse floor plan takes full advantage of the waterfront setting, placing the open living, dining and kitchen areas on the top floor where the views become part of the experience. With three king ensuites, a queen bedroom and a bunk room, Safe and Sound comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests while giving families plenty of room to gather and spread out.

Ground Level
The ground level is ready for relaxed vacation days with a game room, full bathroom and laundry area. Step outside for easy access to the private pool and outdoor spaces, all with the Currituck Sound as your waterfront backdrop.

First Landing
A king bedroom with private full bath is tucked away on the landing between levels, offering a little extra separation and privacy.

Second Level
This level includes a king bedroom with private ensuite bath, plus a queen bedroom and bunk room with four single beds. The queen and bunk rooms share a full hallway bathroom.

Second Landing
Another king bedroom with private ensuite bath offers a private retreat on the way to the top floor.

Third Level
The heart of the home brings everyone together with an open living and dining area overlooking the sound. Step onto the terrace for a front-row seat to the water and a comfortable place to sit, relax and take in those incredible Corolla sunsets. The kitchen also opens to a sunroom, a bright, inviting extra space for morning coffee, reading or simply slowing down.

Beach, Resort & More

At Safe and Sound, you really do get the best of both sides of Corolla. Start the morning with a walk or bike ride along the mile-plus soundfront trail, spend the afternoon at the beach, and come home in time for sunset over the Currituck Sound.

The beach access is conveniently located across from the Austin Street cul-de-sac. Walk it, bike it with the bikes provided at the house, or hop on Corolla Light’s seasonal trolley and let it take you there.

And there’s so much more than the beach. Your stay includes access to Corolla Light’s oceanfront pools, soundfront pool, playground, basketball and volleyball courts, tennis, pickleball and a 36,000-square-foot Sports Center with an indoor heated pool, fitness center, spa and indoor courts. Along the sound, you’ll also find fishing and crabbing piers plus places to launch kayaks and paddleboards.

Make beach days even easier with optional chair and umbrella packages from Corolla Light Beach Rentals. Reserve a setup for the week and spend less time hauling gear and more time enjoying the beach.

Resort wristbands and guest information are picked up at the Sports Center when you arrive, and we’ll send all the details before your stay.

Your Own Soundfront Retreat

When you're ready for some downtime, there's plenty to enjoy right at the property. Spend the afternoon around your private pool, unwind in the hot tub, fire up the grill, enjoy the game room and pool table, or find your favorite spot overlooking the water.

And then there are the sunsets. As evening settles in, head to the terrace and watch the sky change over the Currituck Sound - one of the simple pleasures that makes a soundfront Outer Banks vacation so special.

Safe and Sound accommodates a maximum of 12 registered guests.

Guests have private access to the entire home, including the private pool, hot tub, game room and outdoor spaces.

Safe and Sound is tucked along the Currituck Sound in Corolla Light Resort, one of Corolla’s most amenity-rich communities. A soundfront walking path is just outside the home, perfect for morning walks and sunset strolls, while the ocean and beach access are conveniently located across from the Austin Street cul-de-sac.

Corolla Light offers plenty for families to enjoy, from oceanfront pools and beach facilities to the sports center, fitness facilities, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball and seasonal trolley service. Walk, bike or ride the trolley around the resort, then return to the quieter soundfront side of the community at the end of the day.

Beyond the resort, you’re close to Corolla’s restaurants, shops, Historic Corolla Park, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the charming waterfront village. Duck, with its soundfront boardwalk, boutiques and restaurants, is an easy drive south.

Once you arrive, the resort is easy to explore on foot, by bike or using the seasonal trolley. Beach access is conveniently located across from the Austin Street cul-de-sac, making it easy to walk, bike or hop on the trolley for a day at the ocean.

You’re also close to everything Corolla has to offer, including shops, restaurants, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Historic Corolla Park and the waterfront village area. Head south to explore Duck’s shops, restaurants and soundfront boardwalk, or venture north toward the 4x4 beaches for a completely different Outer Banks experience.


Safe and Sound is a family vacation home and does not accommodate parties or events. No pets, smoking or vaping are permitted at the property. Only registered guests may use the home and resort amenities. Some resort amenities and seasonal trolley service operate on seasonal schedules and are subject to resort hours and availability.

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old and remain at the property for the duration of the stay. Maximum occupancy is 12 guests.

We provide starter supplies to help you settle in, including toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher detergent. Toiletries and personal care items are not provided, so please plan to bring what your family will need for your stay. You may also find pantry or household items left by previous guests, you’re welcome to use them.

Linens and bath towels are provided. Guests will receive detailed check-in information, resort information and house instructions prior to arrival.

The home's private pool is open seasonally May-September. The hot tub is available year-round.

The home has two Apple TVs, located in the main living area and game room. Guests can enjoy Spectrum cable through the Spectrum app, along with popular streaming apps including Disney+, ESPN, Peacock, Fandango and Netflix. You’re also welcome to sign into your own streaming services during your stay; please remember to sign out before departure.

The main living area also features a SONOS sound system. Guests with a SONOS account can connect and stream their own music during their stay.
